Chilled taster sessions

FRIDAY EVENING HANDBUILDING WORKSHOPS:
Join us for one or more of our relaxed handbuilding workshops that take place on Friday evenings, from 6-8pm. Each session will focus on a unique theme and handbuilding technique. The workshops are structured to follow our beginners programme with everything you would learn with membership. (excluding throwing because we like to do that in a smaller class) The cost is £45, which covers tuition, clay and decorative slips. When your work has had it’s first firing, we will dip it in transparent glaze so it is all finished on collection unless you choose to do the additional glazing workshop.

Plates and Platters Date to be confirmed
In this workshop you will use the slab method to make some small plates or bigger platters and use slips to decorate in colours inspired by spring and decorate. Materials: White Clay, coloured slips.

Friday 19th June 6-8pm Coiling and slips
A mindful approach to building a little bit bigger using the coiling method to shape as you build, the theme is focused on the Summer Solstice and you can decorate using coloured slips if you wish to. Materials: Crank clay, coloured slips.

If you do not want to use slips to decorate and instead would like to join a glazing workshop, please let Zara know.

THROWING WORKSHOPS:

Join us for an engaging throwing class suitable for all levels, lasting 2.5 hours. You'll have the opportunity to make 3-4 pots, all of which will be fired. This experience is £65 per person for a 1:4 class, providing a fantastic way to try something new, refine your skills, and meet new people. (This does not include glazing. If you do not want to attend the glazing workshop, you can pay us to glaze it for you.. but it’s not as exciting).

DECORATING

Join our glazing workshop for just £25 per person and enjoy a 1.5-hour class where you'll learn everything about glazing and get hands-on experience under supervision.

Young people’s workshops/family workshops

We do plan these throughout the year but as MWCS’s classes run all year and not term times only, we have to fit them in to our existing programme. Please fill in our contact form and ask to be added to our list of interested parties and you will be the first to know when we are holding a workshop.
